There doesn’t in fact exist another kind of tool that has such a wide variety of products for converting images to PDF. However, the 3-Heights™ Image to PDF component makes the difference between such kind of tools. The point is in the details. For example, each and all image formats should be supported faultlessly ( among others are JPEGs embedded in TIFF),color space should be relocated by embedding profiles,metadata should be converted to the XMP format and embedded equally, image data needs to be confirmed and improved as well as than recompressed and the list carries on.

 Among all the features, PDF/A-1 and PDF/A-2 congruent creation of output files, the quick web view and the setting of page borders are practically taken for granted.
 Nevertheless, the conversion of JPM files with MCR contents (mixed raster content) to PDF/A-2 compliant files with OCR text-recognition is not ordinary at the same time.

The embracement of PDF at dawn of its development was dilatory. Adobe Acrobat, Adobe’s application for viewing, reading and generating PDF documents, was not at free disposal; first versions of PDF did not support external hyperlinks, diminishing their value on the Internet; the bigger size of PDF files in comparison with ordinary text demanded more time for downloading over the slacker modems relevant for that time; and the rendering of PDF documents was dilatory on the less powerful computers of that time. Furthermore, PDF was competing with such formats as DjVu (still in progress), Envoy, Common Ground Digital Paper, Farallon Replica and even Adobe’s own PostScript format; in those days, PDF was mainly used in desktop publishing workflows.
Adobe soon began to distribute its Acrobat Reader (now Adobe Reader) application free of charge, and went on supporting the initial PDF, that finally turned into the de facto standard for printable papers on the web (a standard web document).
Adobe modified the specification of PDF a few times and carries on developing new specifications according to Adobe Acrobat’s new versions. There are nine versions of PDF that correspond to Acrobat releases:

* 1993 – PDF 1.0 / Acrobat 1.0
* 1994 – PDF 1.1 / Acrobat 2.0
* 1996 – PDF 1.2 / Acrobat 3.0
* 1999 – PDF 1.3 / Acrobat 4.0
* 2001 – PDF 1.4 / Acrobat 5.0
* 2003 – PDF 1.5 / Acrobat 6.0
* 2005 – PDF 1.6 / Acrobat 7.0
* 2006 – PDF 1.7 / Acrobat 8.0
* 2006 – PDF 1.7 / Acrobat 8.2
* 2008 – PDF 1.7, Adobe Extension Level 3 / Acrobat 9.0
* 2009 – PDF 1.7, Adobe Extension Level 5 / Acrobat 9.1

Almost all companies create most of their documents in Microsoft Word – it is the most convenient text editor and easy-to-use tool for creating documents. Using MS Word one can change fonts, styles, layout options and many others.

Though the MS Office 2007 allows applying security options to a document such as adding a digital signature, a password to open and modify or encryption options Word documents still remain less protected than those in PDF. Thereby documents created in Word can be converted to PDF in order to secure documents to the best advantage.

PDF stands for Portable Document Format and it is a standard format for electronic documents. Today you can find PDF files almost everywhere: in management, publishing, education and other spheres. PDF is used for sending letters, reports, messages and exchanging business documents such as billing accounts, invoices, contracts, etc.

PDF is a device- and software- independent print-ready format. It means that it is always shown in the same way on more than 20 operating systems and is identical to the original document as opposed to Word that is not. Thus converting Word documents to PDF allows reflecting them to all interested bodies the same way and without any quality losses.

PDF documents suit well for long-term storage and are more secured than Word documents. One can protect a PDF document with a password, plot a watermark on the document, prohibit modifying and printing, and add electronic digital signature. PDF provides authors and owners of information with such security options as ‘Can Print’, ‘Can Modify’, ‘Can extract’, etc. that makes document highly protected from copying.

Converting Word to PDF allows exchanging documents quicker as PDF makes documents several times smaller than their originals. Thereby it can be said that Word to PDF conversion is not only advisable but as well reasonable if you are going to manage your business effectively.

PDF is PDF (Portable Document Format) is a standard format for electronic documents. PDF is very popular in the Internet – that’s because to view PDF documents you only need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.

If your business is somehow connected with document workflow and you’re publishing any kind of documents you need a good PDF converter. If you google for ‘PDF converter’ you can see many results found. Among them you can find PDF printers, free online PDF converters or those that cost some money. The problem with free PDF converters is that they don’t convert your documents exactly as it should be. And some important information could be lost and not get a customer. So it is very important to choose a PDF converter that will suit perfectly your needs (embedded links and images, for example).

Let’s take for example the Open Office Writer tool that I was using before I found my best PDF converter (I’ll describe it later). The Open Office Writer is a desktop publisher that provides PDF export feature. It has different formatting options that allow customizing the application. All in all the PDF converting results were good when I used this converter. But the minus is that Open Office software keeps too much memory space. If it is not the problem for you then the Open Office is a very good decision.

As I’ve already mention I found another best solution. It is not free now (it was earlier but after the new release it became payable) but it suits my requirements in PDF conversion and doesn’t keep much disk space. I’m talking about Altsoft Xml2PDF converter and especially about its Workstation desktop application. It suits perfectly a small business. Xml2PDF workstation supports embedded links, images, allows using watermarks and background images. It supports PDF security options such as digital signature and password protection. It has a user-friendly interface and converts documents to PDF just on one button click. And I think the ˆ39 price is not that big.

Someone may not agree with me and find another solution for converting documents to PDF that will suit his needs better than Xml2PDF does. This is just my choice and my best PDF converter is Altsoft Xml2PDF!

PDF (Portable Document Format) allows saving photos, vector graphics, text and other objects with different layout levels in one document. PDF is cross-platform format that saves display accuracy including such details as gaps, full stops and commas.

Many documents are published in the Internet in PDF. It is convenient to spread documents that are assigned for printing or reading from screen in PDF. PDF documents differ from those in HTML due to their ability to be viewed in any browser the same way.

With the help of PDF it is profitable to spread e-books, technical information, manuals, etc. PDF allows high protection from copying – set of options including ‘Can Print’, ‘Can Modify’, ‘Can extract’ and others, – for authors and owners of information spread via the Internet. Just choose required PDF permissions and share your documents.

PDF documents are convenient to distribute, as a result PDF is widely used in marketing sphere. A PDF document consists of only one file unlike HTML that contains external elements such as graphics and style sheets (CSS). This fact makes PDF more accurate and convenient when mailing documents.

PDF is also more convenient in comparison with Microsoft Word. There is no doubt that Word format suits good for text document creation, but it is less protected from copying.

To view PDF documents you need special program – Acrobat Reader – that is freely distributed by Adobe Systems. Certain browsers can view PDF documents and also there are several programs for viewing PDF files.

You can see that PDF have advantages in usage in comparison with HTML and Word. Thus it is reasonable to convert HTML to PDF and Word to PDF. For these purposes you can use several applications such as FastPDF, Altsoft Xml2PDF, Antenna House Formatter and many PDF printers available in the Internet.
